Replacement press-on engine oil pump pickup tube and screen for various 1968-78 Ford and Mercury models with 429-460 big block engines. Applications include Mustang, Cougar, Galaxie, and F-Series Truck. The pick-up tube/oil screen assembly is an essential part of an engines oiling system. It not only provides the lubrication oil but protects the oil pump from contaminants in oil supply system. Contaminates enter your oil system via engine wear, extended time between oil changes and other internal engine sources. These contaminates can interfere with the proper oil flow and pressure spring functions resulting in engine damage and/or failure. It is always advisable to install an new oil pump pick-up tube/screen with every oil pump installation. Replaces Ford part# D0AE-6622-A.
