Based on the renowned Hydramatic 4L60 4 speed overdrive transmissions, the 4L70E delivers greater torque carrying capacity and increased durability. Built with the highest quality OEM parts, it is designed for engines making up to 480 horsepower.

To further increase the performance and long time durability, GM Performance Parts upgraded the 3-4 clutch pack and installed a high-energy 2-4 band. Power loss is diminished with the use of needle bearing assemblies and associated components, which replace conventional thrust washers.
