1984-87 Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile, Pontiac; Windshield Wiper Motor; 2 Terminal; Brand New

Brand New Reproduction wiper motor built using the industry's most advanced engineering technology. Core shortages and low availability have made our brand new replacement wiper motors the high quality, low cost alternative to rare, hard-to-find, or obsolete NOS, used, or remanufactured wiper motors. Includes rubber mounting bushings.

Note: Wiper motor does not include the washer pump.

Even though A40175 is described as a ?2-terminal? motor, the motor physically has 3 blades because of the internal park switch design.

  • Two terminals are the actual motor connections
  • One is power
  • One is ground
  • The third terminal is for the park circuit (which may not be needed on your vehicle)
  • This terminal feeds power through the internal switch so the wipers return to the parked position when you turn them off

This is referred to as a ?2-terminal motor? because:

  • Only two terminals are used to run the motor
  • The park circuit is sometimes handled externally or not used on all applications

Why this might cause confusion:

  • Original OEM motors often had extra blades even if the vehicle harness only used two
  • The listing describes the vehicle wiring, not the physical blade count on the part
    • What to do when installing it:

      • Match it to your original motor
      • If your old motor had 3 blades, plug all 3 in
      • If your harness only has 2 wires, the unused blade simply stays unused
      • Do NOT jumper terminals unless the wiring diagram calls for it

      If the wipers:

      • Run but won't park correctly it could be a park terminal issue
      • Don't run at all it could be a power/ground mismatch
        • Quick rule of thumb

          • Motor spins = main power + ground correct
          • Wipers park correctly = park terminal wired correctly
