1970-81 F-Body; Detroit Speed; Bare Metal Unassembled Subframe; Big Block

Detroit Speed & Engineering's all new front subframe is a bolt-in replacement for the original stock subframe. Utilizing DSE's industry-exclusive hydro-formed frame rails and unique suspension geometry, it improves ride quality and handling.

Hydroformed frame rails offer strength, stiffness, precise quality and repeatability. Hydroforming preserves the steel's strength and stiffness, unlike traditional high-temperature processes which decrease material strength, because it is performed at low temperatures. Both the main and secondary crossmembers are stamped for structural rigidity.

Set includes:
  • Hydro-formed frame rails
  • Stamped crossmembers
  • Tubular upper control arms with cross shafts
  • Tubular lower control arms
  • Forged spindles
  • C6 Corvette Steering Knuckles with hubs (5 x 4-3/4" lug pattern with 12mm x1.5" studs)
  • Coil-over shocks
  • Coil-over springs
  • Power Rack & Pinion steering
  • Splined sway bar
  • Composite sway bar bushings
  • Spanner Tool for shock adjustments

This subframe features a 650 lb/in spring rate.

DSE's front subframe can accomodate a 10" wide wheel package with up to 335-series tires without modifying the inner wheel wells, but you must check fender lip clearance for turning. You can use any C6 Corvette brake package from stock to aftermarket.

Wheel fitment:
  • 17" x 10" Wheels*
  • 18" x 8-10" Wheels
  • 19" x 8-10"Wheels

* 17" wheels require a minimum ins ide diameter of 16.250", some brake applications will not work with 17" wheels. Flush mount valve stems may also be required on wheels with a behind center valve stem location.

Important: This subframe is sold in bare metal and is not assembled. If you opt for the powder coating option, assembly is included.
