E-Rod 5.3L Engine 315HP For Use with Manual Transmission

GM Performance Part's new E-ROD crate engines are efficient, environmently-conscious and fully emission-compliant but still deliver amazing horsepower, there is no sacrifice. Get the confidence of knowing that once you've built your project car, you ca n legally register it! Based on the proven and durable workhorse engine in the Chevrolet Silverado, this is the most affordable E-ROD package.

The E-ROD 5.3L is rated at 315 horsepower and 335 lb.ft. of torque, and features camshaft phasing, wh ich alters valve timing to help optimize performance and efficiency across the rpm band. All engines include the necessary engine controller with specific calibrations for automatic or manual transmissions. Other components include: Engine wiring harness , Exhaust manifolds, Catalytic converters, Oxygen sensors and sensor bosses, Fuel tank evaporative emissions canister, Mass airflow sensor and sensor boss, Accelerator pedal (for use with LS3 GM Performance Part's electronic throttle), Air filter and Ins truction manual. In addition, each engine requires a Front Accessory Drive/Transmission Control System suited to your build. The instruction manual includes recommendations for the accessory drive kit, transmission, gear ratios and more. GM Performance Pa rt's offers two configurations of the accessory drive systems to suit different applications and each allows the installer to easily delete air conditioning.

E-ROD systems do not come with a transmission.

  • Intended for pre-1976 street vehicles or off-road vehicles.
  • Check hood clearance for interference.
  • Not intended for marine applications

Important: In addition to the E-ROD system, the builder will need to source additional components to complete assembly and get the vehicle running, including: Fuel tank, Fuel lines (re-circulating or returnless), Fuel pump, Fuel tank vent line from the tank to the evaporative emissionscanister, Purge line from the canister to the engine purge solenoid, Air induction system withmass air flow sensor, Exhaust system behind the catalytic converters and a "check engine" light (wiring and circuitry included in the kit).
