1957-67 Chevrolet; Ignition Coil Ballast Resistor; Original Style; 1.8 Ohms; Features Delco Remy Logo and 1/2-moon Stamp in the Bracket

Reproduction ignition coil resistor for 1957-67 Chevrolet passenger car models. Fits 6 or 8 cylinder (excluding high performance). Features correct 1.8 ohm rating for standard models without high performance engine. Features Delco Remy logo, original style bracket and blue stripe. For ignition systems that require a 1.8 ohm ignition coil resistor.

Popular Applications
  • 1957-1964 L6 or V8, full size Chevrolet passenger car, except hi-performance engine.
  • 1963-1964 Corvette 8 cylinder, except special high performance or F.I.
  • 1965-1965 Corvette 8 cylinder, all.
  • 1965-1967 Corvette 8 cylinder, except Transistor Ignition.
    • Additional Information
        Note
        • Starting around 1965, GM began to integrate the resistance directly into the wiring harness, eliminating the need for an external ceramic block. This resistance wire, often identified by a specific color or a heat-shielded mesh covering, performs the same function as the earlier ceramic block.
        • The Chevrolet Corvette did not switch to the resistance wire until 1968.
        Fitment Note
        • Can be used as a service replacement for most 1955-72 GM vehicles that require a 1.8 ohm ignition coil resistor.
