1955-57 Chevrolet 396ci - 502Ci Uncoated (Raw Steel) Long Tube Patriot Headers
These popular 1955-57 Chevrolet passenger car headers offer superior performance and are designed to clear most air conditioning, power brake, and power steering systems. Extra ground clearance makes "slammed" vehicles driveable and above frame rail ex haust system installation easy.
Benefits:- 1-7/8" tube
- 3" collector
- 3/8" flange thickness
- Same as head port
Included with each set are installation hardware, collector reducers, gaskets and instructions.
These headers are ra w steel and are uncoated for those who wish to apply their own type or color of coating. Although an uncoated hedder can be used, we recommend the use of a thermal coating or a high temperature paint (sold separately) to protect them from the elements an d prolong their life. 1955-57 396ci - 502ci Chevrolet big block:- With or Without Air Conditioning
- With or Without Power Steering
- With or Without Power Brakes
- Automatic Transmission with Column or Floor Shift
- Will not fit manual transmission
- Fits with stock or 605 steering boxes, aftermarket side engine mounts and rear trans crossmemb er
- Check motor mount position before ordering
- Fits standard deck big blocks only
- Original bellhousing frame mounts must be removed
- Header is designed to fit cars using original V8 pitman arm not 6 cylinder pitman a rm. Aftermarket pitman arms must be same as OE for proper header fit
- Legal only for off-highway use (except in California or states that have adopted California emission standards), racing use or for use on pre-emission-controlled motor vehicles/motor vehicle engines (pre-1974 domestic vehicles certified to California standards, pre-1974 domestic vehicles certified to federal standards and all pre-1974 foreign vehicles), per the manufacturer's application guide.
