The MSD 6A is the base model of the capacitive discharge multi-spark 6-series design. Whether you have a powerful street machinee, custom cruiser or a restored stock beauty, the powerful multiple sparks of the MSD 6A will ensure complete combustion.

The more complete combustion delivered by the MSD 6A offers plenty of benefits, such as: Quicker E/T's, easier starting, reduced plug fouling, more power and even increased fuel economy can be expected.

Like all MSD 6-series ignitions, the 6A will work with virtually any vehicle as long as it has a 12-18 volt electrical system. It can be triggered using breaker points, a magnetic pickup or the output of an electronic amplifier. All necessary parts and wiring instructions are included. Will work on 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines.

The 6AL shares the same proven circuitry of the 6A with the addition of a built-in adjustable rev limiter. For those who want more, there is the 6AL-2, which offers two rev limiters. Yes, two, one for high-end over-rev protection and another you can activate off the clutch or transbrake to set a launch limit. Adjustments re made via four rotary dials for 100rpm increment control. The multiple spark burst lasts for 20* of crankshaft rotation. The comination of powerful sparks with the safety of a rev limiter is what makes the 6AL-2 the most popular ignition control in the world.
